Paper Tablecloth CONVERSER (pattern)
I have attempted to evoke the social aspect of eating a meal by transposing conversation fragments upon the tablecloth, where each actor plays a stereotyped role. For this, I worked on the dialogue, the typography and the colours, so that the four characters emerge.
By playing with repetitions, which become abstracted from context, I am highlighting the comic, even absurd, character that a conversation can take on. The idea of a paper tablecloth was chosen to underline the ephemeral nature of words which have buttressed meal times since the dawn of time.
This tablecloth invites somebody to sit down and discover his own role in the discussion.
